Tanushree Dutta Harassment Case: Bollywood Actress Breaks Down Over Years of Trauma

Tanushree Dutta Harassment Case

In a shocking turn of events, the Tanushree Dutta harassment case has once again brought attention to the dark side of fame and the price paid by whistleblowers. On Tuesday, July 23, 2025, Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta shared a heartbreaking live video on Instagram, revealing that she has been facing relentless harassment inside her own home for several years.

The emotional revelation has left fans and the film industry deeply concerned. Tanushree, who first made headlines during the 2018 #MeToo movement in India with her allegations against actor Nana Patekar, is once again seeking justice—this time for what she describes as targeted mental and emotional abuse.

Tanushree Dutta’s Cry for Help: “I’m Being Harassed in My Own Home”

The Instagram live, which has since gone viral, featured Tanushree Dutta tearfully pleading with her followers and authorities. She stated that she is being tormented within the very walls of her house and has finally involved the police due to the ongoing trauma.

“Guys, I am being harassed in my own home. Mujhe mere he ghar mein pareshaan kiya ja raha hai,” said Tanushree in a trembling voice.

According to her, the harassment has been taking place for the past 4–5 years, slowly deteriorating her mental and physical health. In the video, she admitted, “Mujhe itna pareshaan kiya gaya hai ki meri tabyet kharab ho gayi hai. I’m not able to do anything. My house is a mess.”

Allegations of Planted Maids and Theft

One of the more alarming claims Tanushree made was that “planted maids” were sent into her home. She said the domestic help hired by her were involved in theft and other disturbing activities.

“I cannot even hire maids because they planted maids in my house… I had such bad experiences with maids, coming in and stealing and doing all kinds of things.”

She added that she now has to do all her chores by herself because she can no longer trust anyone coming into her home.

Police Involvement in Tanushree Dutta Harassment Case

Tanushree revealed that she has finally contacted the police after enduring this trauma silently for years. While the police advised her to file a formal written complaint at the local police station, she mentioned feeling too unwell to do it immediately.

“I just called the cops and they have asked me to visit a police station and lodge a proper complaint. I will probably go tomorrow.”

Despite being unwell, Tanushree stated that she had no choice but to seek legal intervention due to the severity of her situation.

Public Appeal for Support

Ending her emotional video, Tanushree made a public appeal:

“I am being troubled in my own house, please someone help me.”

She further added in the caption of her video post:

“I’m sick and tired of this harassment!! It’s been going on since 2018 #MeToo. Aaj fed up hokar maine police ko call kiya… Please someone help me! Do something before it’s too late.”

The comment section of the video has been flooded with support and calls for justice from fans and well-wishers.

Flashback: 2018 #MeToo Movement and Tanushree’s Allegations

The Tanushree Dutta harassment case began in 2018 when she publicly accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her during the shoot of the 2009 film Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss. She claimed that her complaint to Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) in 2008 was ignored at the time.

In the same year, she also accused filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri of asking her to “remove clothes and dance” in front of actor Irrfan Khan during the filming of Chocolate (2005). Agnihotri and Patekar denied all allegations, and later, Nana Patekar was given a clean chit by the police, which many believed was a miscarriage of justice.

Ongoing Mental Health Struggles

Tanushree’s latest video paints a disturbing picture of prolonged emotional trauma, isolation, and anxiety. Having been a major part of the Bollywood industry and a prominent voice during the #MeToo movement, she now finds herself fighting another silent battle—alone.

Her statement, “I’m not keeping well,” points to a deeper concern. Mental health professionals have consistently noted how prolonged harassment and isolation can cause significant psychological distress.
